Each fashion plate has an individual identifier code derived from the year and month of publication, in YYYY-MM format, plus a two or three letter abbreviation of the publication that the plate is credited to and a reference number, usually taken from the plate itself.

GLB - Godey's Ladies Book

GMP - Les Grandes Modes de Paris

JDD - Journal Des Demoiselles
